Hot & Spicy Wontons
- Cook Time: 10 Minutes
- Serves: 4
Directions
1. In a bowl, mix together the pork, ginger, 1/2 cup sliced green onions, toasted sesame oil, cornstarch, salt, and pepper until it forms a homogenous paste.
2. Take a wonton wrapper and place 2 teaspoons of filling in the middle. Lightly wet the edges of the wrapper and pinch together to cool use tightly around the filling. Place on a plate and cover lightly with plastic wrap. Repeat until all the wonton are made.
3. Make the spicy chili oil: Place the garlic and chili flakes in a small heat proof bowl. Heat the oil in a small pot over medium heat until shimmery, then carefully pour over the garlic and chili flakes. They will bubble up. Stir in Bachan’s Hot and Spicy Barbecue Sauce and toasted sesame oil. Set aside.
4. Bring a large pot of water to a boil over high heat. When boiling, gently add in the wonton, being sure not to over crowd. Stir gently and let the water come back up to a rolling boil. Let boil until completely cooked through: the wonton will float; cut one open to double check. It should take about 4-5 minutes, depending on size.
5. Use as slotted spoon to scoop the wonton into individual bowls and top with Bachan’s Hot and Spicy chili oil. Garnish with the remaining green onions and enjoy!
