Fried Chicken & Waffles

Directions

  1. Brine the chicken legs and thighs in buttermilk, pickle juice and an egg for a minimum of 1 hour, ideally overnight.

  2. Remove the chicken from brine then coat each piece in the flour dredge. Let them sit on a sheet pan for 10 minutes to allow the flour dredge to adhere to the chicken.

  3. Preheat the oil in a dutch oven to 350°F.

  4. Carefully drop the chicken into the hot oil and deep fry the chicken for 5-7 minutes.

  5. Remove once the chicken is golden brown, then put them in the oven at 350°F until it reaches an internal temperature of 165°F.

  6. Prepare your belgian waffle by mixing batter together, then cooking it per the instructions on the box.You can skip this step with a precooked waffle.

  7. Serve the chicken on a belgian waffle with a side of sliced pickles.

  8. Drizzle Hot Honey Bachan’s over the top then serve warm.
